Edge-to-Edge Bite — Corrected with Invisalign

Asymmetric molar relationship • Bilateral posterior crossbite • Invisalign • 18 months

What is it?

An edge-to-edge bite means the upper and lower front teeth meet tip-to-tip instead of the uppers overlapping the lowers — often linked to an uneven bite at the back of the mouth. This case had a Class III molar relationship on the left side, a full Class I relationship on the right, and a crossbite on both sides at the back teeth. The patient's main concern was her edge-to-edge front bite, corrected here with Invisalign.

How we treat it:

  • Digital 3D scan & Invisalign smile design
  • Custom series of clear aligners
  • Correction of bilateral posterior crossbite
  • Bite correction from edge-to-edge to a normal overlap
  • Treatment completed over 18 months
  • Retainers to maintain the result
