Class II Div 2 & Severe Crowding — 4 Premolar Extractions

Class II Division 2 • Retroclined upper incisors • Severe crowding • 4 premolars extracted • Fixed braces • Class I achieved

What is it?

Class II Division 2 is a bite pattern where the upper front teeth tip inward (retroclined) — creating a deep overbite and narrow inter-incisal angle. Combined with severe arch crowding, this is one of the most technically demanding cases in orthodontics: the incisors must be torqued forward while simultaneously opening and closing four extraction spaces, all without losing vertical control of the bite.

How we treat it:

  • Full diagnostic records — OPG, cephalometric analysis & study models
  • Strategic extraction of 4 premolars to relieve severe crowding
  • Fixed braces with precise upper incisor torque prescription
  • Deep bite correction and overbite reduction throughout treatment
  • Space closure to achieve Class I canine & molar relationship
  • Bonded lingual retainers upper & lower to hold the final result
